WebLOG is a technology to expand the dynamic range of your footage, and manual expansion wouldn't affect it any more different than a REC709 LUT would. Manual expansion (or primary grade) would give you more flexibility for adjusting the details of your contrast. If you aren't experienced enough go with LUT.
